Add your own ElevenLabs voice key

Bring your own ElevenLabs API key so your Wani voice agent uses your account's voices and quota instead of Automix's shared default. This guide shows you how to generate the key, add it to your workspace, and understand how it overrides the built-in fallback.

  1. 1 Get your API key from ElevenLabs

Sign in (or sign up) at elevenlabs.io. Open your account settings and find the API Keys area. Create a key and copy it immediately -- treat it like a password, as you will not be able to see it in full again.

  2. 2 Add the key to your Wani agent

Paste the key into your Wani agent's voice provider settings. Under the hood this calls the voice credentials endpoint for the 'elevenlabs' provider; the key is stored per-workspace, not shared with any other workspace.

  3. 3 How this fits with Automix's own shared key

Automix runs a shared ElevenLabs key so voice works before you configure anything. Once you add your own key, Wani always prefers your workspace's key over the shared one for every call your agent makes -- this is not a toggle you set separately.

  4. 4 Your key is never shown again

Once saved, no screen or API response ever displays the key again -- only whether one is set. If you lose track of which key is active, the only way to be sure is to save a new one.

  5. 5 Remove your key

Delete your workspace's key at any time. Once removed, Wani falls back to Automix's shared key for this provider.
