Does Jeet ever message a lead on its own?+
No — not a WhatsApp message, not an SMS, and never a phone call. Those always become a task for a rep to act on themselves, whether or not a provider is even connected. Email is different: a real, consent-gated send path exists, used both by a direct send and by a sequence's email step, but only for a contact who has opted in and only once an email provider is connected. Even then, every send is either a rep's own explicit action or a sequence a person configured in advance — Jeet never decides on its own to reach someone.
Do I need to connect anything to use Jeet?+
No, not to start. Eleven of seventeen capabilities — the pipeline, scoring, stage automation, tasks, duplicate detection, win/loss reporting, sequences (call and WhatsApp steps always become tasks either way), forecasting, rep performance, lead routing and CSV import/export — work against Jeet's own database with nothing configured. The other six each name the exact credential they wait on, listed in JEET_CREDENTIALS, rather than a vague 'connect a provider'.
What happens if I try to move a lead into a stage that's missing a required field?+
The move is refused with a 400 naming exactly which fields are missing, whether you moved one lead or 200 at once. There's no bulk-edit or API shortcut that skips the check — the single route and the bulk route call the identical function that assigns a lead's stage.
Can I skip the loss reason if I'm in a hurry?+
No. Moving a lead to lost without a lost_reason is refused regardless of what your stage rules require, because win/loss reporting is the one question that can't be reconstructed after the fact.
How is the lead score calculated?+
Arithmetic, not a model: replies (up to 48 points), the stage a human moved the lead to (up to 40), whether it has a value set (+10), and a staleness penalty for silence (down to -32) — each with a plain-English reason. A workspace can add its own rules in three fixed weight buckets, and a preview endpoint shows exactly what a candidate rule set would do to a real lead before you save it.
What counts as a lead 'rotting'?+
No touch — any lead event, or a completed task — for longer than the stage's rot_days. It ignores a future next-activity date (a meeting booked for next month still rots) and counts weekends, matching the one competitor whose rules users have already learned rather than inventing a cleverer one that surprises them.
Why isn't there a route to send a follow-up directly from a task?+
Because the task table has no column that could address a customer — no phone, no channel, no template — and that is deliberate, not an oversight to fix later. A call or a WhatsApp message needs consent and human judgement Jeet is not going to fake by adding a send button to a task row. Where Jeet does send something itself — email — it goes through a completely separate path with its own consent gate, unsubscribe handling and provider check, never through the task table.
If I connect an email provider, will Jeet start emailing my leads on its own?+
No. An email only goes out when a person sends one directly, or when a lead is enrolled in a sequence a person built and its email step comes due — and even then, only for a contact with opted-in marketing consent on file. Enrollment itself refuses to schedule an email or WhatsApp step for a contact who hasn't opted in, and a reply from the lead immediately pauses and cancels every step still scheduled for them.
